"Judge not…"
INTRODUCTION
God is speaking in parables (Ezekiel 20:49 ). It was prophesied that Jesus Christ would also speak in parables:
Psalms 78:2 " I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:"
This was confirmed when Jesus Christ said:
John 6:63 " It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing : the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit…"
Example: a "Natural Man" who cannot understand "spiritual things" is "dead" in the eyes of God:
1 Corinthians 2:14 " But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
Proverbs 21:16 " The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. "
"Born again" ushers in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in a person who is now provided with a SPIRITUAL LIFE.
1 Corinthians 3:16 " Know ye not that ye are the temple of God , and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"
"Born again" therefore is spiritual transformation from a Natural Man to Spiritual Man. If in the "natural or dead" state a person cannot understand "spiritual things," the indwelling Holy Spirit, the Teacher, reveals great message in the word of God. Thus,
1 Corinthians 2:16 " For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."
The Holy Spirit through the Word teaches a person, not in scientific, social, political, or economic but in spiritual matters.
John 14:26 " But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost…he shall teach you all things…"
1 John 2:27 " But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things…"
To understand the parables therefore, it needs to have the privilege of being a disciple of Christ:
Mark 4:34 " But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples."
With God's revelation from His words, the line between PHYSICAL LIFE and SPIRITUAL LIFE is clearly delineated:
PHYSICAL LIFE consists of the BODY and the SOUL (also known as the "spirit of man"). The BODY is composed of the senses and all faculties related to it, while the SOUL is composed of the intellect and feeling.
SPIRITUAL LIFE consists of the SOUL and the SPIRIT of God. It is through the SOUL, composed of the intellect and feeling, that God's revelation of His words is coursed to become "spiritual food" for the SPIRITUAL LIFE.
The first step to become a disciple of Christ is "conversion into a little child."
Matthew 18:3 "… Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. "
Christ is clearly speaking "spiritual things." The apostles and disciples were not physically but "spiritually converted" that they were given knowledge and wisdom that was denied from the Scribes and Pharisees:
Matthew 11:25 " …Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. "
Who would believe this if God were not speaking in "parables?"
Isaiah 28:9 (KJV only) " Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts."
2 Timothy 3:15 " And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. "
ON JUDGING
Even in PHYSICAL LIFE, settling disputes among individuals is a delicate matter that, in important cases, it requires duly constituted authorities specifically tasked for that purpose to pronounce judgment. These are the courts of law duly classified from the lowest to the highest known as the Supreme Court.
If disputes are so delicate in the physical life of persons that only pronounce judgment of imprisonment or physical death, what more for the SPIRITUAL LIFE that affirms judgment for the life hereafter -- either salvation or condemnation! Thus, in spiritual matters, this is what is written:
Matthew 7:1 " Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
If God were not speaking in parables, how could He say the following that are contradictory to the foregoing verses?
John 7:24 " Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
Leviticus 19:15 " Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour."
With man's comprehension, the words of God are full of contradictions. This is where we find the need for knowledge and wisdom coming from God. It necessitates God's explanation of His words.
WHO IS THE JUDGE?
Look how God speaks through His words. It is written God is the Judge:
Psalms 50:6 " And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself."
Without God's explanation, how could judgment be tossed to another entity? Judgment is being passed on to the Son!
John 5:22 " For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: "
But the Son passes judgment to His words:
John 12:47 " And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him : the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. "
John 8:15 " Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man."
This is the reason why we hear many people quoting Bible verses pronouncing "judgment" on some people and other matters. The irony of it is, different people have different "judgments" using the same word of God. Also we see inconsistency in the application of the word that there are divergence of doctrines of different religious denominations. This is the cause of division in Christianity today where religious sects cannot agree on the judgment of God. Therefore, it is not enough to say the "word of God" is the judge.
TRUTH IS THE JUDGE!
It is TRUTH in the word that is the real JUDGE. God is Truth (Psalms 31:5). Jesus Christ is the Truth (John 14:6).
Romans 2:2 " But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. "
It is written Jesus Christ is the Word of God (Rev. 19:13), and the "Word made flesh" (John 1:14 ). Just as Jesus is a physical-visible being, so is the "letter of the word" comprehensible or "visible" to people. That is what people see in the physical Jesus, the equivalent of the words in the Holy Bible.
In perceiving at the PHYSICAL JESUS, some people identify Him as only a man and never a God. Others identify Jesus, as a minor God for there is an Almighty God. Still others identify Jesus as the Father and the Holy Spirit. Many identify Jesus as both God and man and is the 2 nd person of the Trinity. Just as different people have different perceptions of the physical Jesus, so are different understanding and interpretations of the "LETTER" of the Word.
WHAT IS THE TRUTH?
As the Word, Jesus leads us to the TRUTH. He said He is only "one witness" to the truth.
John 5:31 " If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. 32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true."
If the physical Jesus is equivalent to the "letter" of the word, then the "letter" need confirmation from "another witness." Jesus is referring to the Father as the other witness for Him:
John 8:16 " And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
Establishing the truth is based on the principle of the testimony of two witnesses:
John 8:17 " It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me."
Using this comparison of Jesus with the Word, recognizing Him only as a physical being is not yet His true identity. Otherwise, the identity of the Father is also established.
John 8:19 " Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also."
So also, simply comprehending the literal or the "letter" of the word does not yet represent the truth. No wonder there are many questions remaining unanswered on the word; just as the clear identity of God and Jesus Christ remains a great mystery to many people. What Jesus stated of Himself as a witness was already foreshadowed in the Old Testament, which He now confirms.
Deuteronomy 19:15 " One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin…at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established."
Matthew 18:16 " But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established."
The two (2) witnesses to the truth in the word are the "letter" and the "spirit." The "letter" corresponds to JESUS and the "spirit" to the FATHER.
THE ADULTEROUS WOMAN
Here is a demonstration of TRUTH in the word that judges, and not Jesus or the "letter" of the word.
John 8:3 " And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?"
The Scribes and Pharisees were quoting this Old Testament law:
Leviticus 20:10 " And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death."
For those who espouse the "letter" of the word, why do they not enforce the punishment for this Law? The Scribes and Pharisees were testing Jesus whether He would fulfill His promise of not having destroyed the law in the Old Testament for He said:
Matthew 5:17 " Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."
The Scribes and Pharisees as if forcing Him to enforce the punishment said:
John 8:5 " Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6…But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
How did Jesus fulfill His promise of not destroying but fulfilled that particular Law when, in the perception of the Scribes and Pharisees, He did not enforce the punishment? The action of Jesus proved the following:
1st - Jesus proved His statement that He came not to judge (John 12:47 ).
2nd - The "letter" in the word is to "stone the woman to death" for committing adultery. The "letter" however is not sufficient to judge, for it is only "one witness" to the truth. It requires the testimony of "another witness," and this is the "spirit in the law." This is to establish the truth in:
Deuteronomy 19:15 " One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established."
John 8:16 " And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true."
Matt. 18:16 " But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established."
3 rd - It is the TRUTH in the word, the "letter" and the "spirit," that is the real judge:
Romans 2:2 " But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth …"
The Scribes and Pharisees who saw literal-physical adultery in the woman simply referred to the "letter" of the law. To them, that is already the truth. But to our Lord who symbolizes the "letter of the law," said, "My testimony alone is not true" (John 5:31 ). To establish the truth therefore, it requires another witness. Jesus was referring to the Father that is symbolized by the "spirit of the law."
Therefore, aside from physical adultery, it needs to prove spiritual adultery in order to establish the TRUTH, in order for the guilty parties to be punished. Here are the "parties" to the sin of spiritual adultery:
- God is the spiritual husband.
- The people, both male and female (Galatians 3:28 ), are the spiritual wife.
- Satan is the "other man".
Jeremiah 3:14 " Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family…"
Isaiah 54:5 " For thy Maker is thine husband…"
If physical adultery is the acceptance of "seeds" other than the seeds of the husband, so is spiritual adultery the acceptance of "seeds" other than the "pure seeds" of God. The "pure seeds" of God is the TRUTH in His words (Luke 8:11 ). Human precepts and religious traditions are "strange seeds." These are the "seeds" of God's enemy.
Colossians 2:8 " Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Isaiah 29:13 " Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: 14Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."
"JESUS DID NOT DESTROY THE LAW"
Jesus said, "I did not come to destroy the law." However, He did not enforce the punishment for the sin of physical adultery for that is only a "part" of the truth. This proves that "the law is spiritual" aside from its literal meaning.
Romans 7:14 " For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal…"
Truth will judge the transgressors of the law. The "other man" is Satan who implants his seeds unto the wife of God. Both Satan the "other man," the adulterer, and the adulteress (people committing spiritual adultery) will be spiritually "stoned to death." This is the 2 nd death in the Lake of Fire .
Revelation 21:8 " But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
Revelation 20:10 " And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire…"
Literally, the woman presented by the Scribes and Pharisees committed physical adultery. The accusers saw only the PHYSICAL LIFE of the woman. The Scribes and Pharisees thought they were not guilty of the sin of adultery because, as exponents of the "letter of the Law," they had been faithful to their spouses. Spiritually however, both the woman and the Scribes and Pharisees were guilty of spiritual adultery for all were not of the truth. That is why our Lord said, "This adulterous generation":
Mark 8:38 " Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
Jesus came not to judge but to save. Therefore He told the woman:
John 8:11 " …Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
The woman could be Mary Magdalene. She repented of her physical sin of adultery and thereafter followed our Lord. She was so "faithful" to her spiritual "husband," GOD, that by accepting only His "pure seeds" which is the TRUTH in the word, the great privilege of being the first to see Christ at His resurrection was given to her:
Mark 16:9 " Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils."
The accusers of the woman, the Scribes and Pharisees, are spiritually blind not seeing the SPIRITUAL LIFE. If they continued in their wrong spiritual way, they will surely be spiritually "stoned to death" as required in the Law. This is the 2 nd death in the Lake of Fire .
The " letter of the law" passes judgment only on the " outside" of a person. This pertains to MORALITY that is seen in the PHYSICAL LIFE of a person. The " spirit of the law" judges the " inside." This is SPIRITUALITY that pertains to the SPIRITUAL LIFE of a person. Our Lord pointed this out to the Scribes and Pharisees when He said:
Matthew 23:24 " Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. 25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter… 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also."
The "inside" should first be cleaned that the "outside" will follow. SPIRITUALITY should precede MORALITY before total "spiritual cleansing" is made. Many people are misled into believing that morality results in spirituality. This is what our Lord saw in the Scribes and Pharisees. But this is not the TRUTH preached by Jesus Christ, " cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also."
"MOTE IN THE EYE"
Looking at somebody's sin is the "mote in the eye" that tempts judgment on others. However our Lord gave this rebuke:
Luke 6:41 " And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye."
The "mote" could be the "letter of the law" that is being transgressed. Does the person trying to "pull out the mote" not guilty of the "spirit of the law" that is as big as a "beam" in the eyes of our Lord? Why pass judgment on others? God is the only JUDGE on the basis of truth of His words who has the all-seeing eyes.
THE JUDGE
How easy for many people to say, "God the Father is the Judge." But many people will be marked down for it is written, judgment is passed on to the Son:
John 5:22 " For the Father judgeth no man , but hath committed all judgment unto the Son."
For those who say, "Jesus Christ is the Judge," where do they stand for it is written it is the word that judges:
John 12:47 " And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day."
For those who say, "The word of God is the Judge," why is there divergence of "judgments" using the word of God that caused the division of Christianity? The real JUDGE is the TRUTH in the word. The "two witnesses" establish this. The "two witnesses" are Jesus Christ and the Father:
John 5:31 " If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. 32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true."
John 8:15 " Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me."
Jesus Christ symbolizes the "letter of the word;" while the Father symbolizes the "spirit in the word." These are the "two witnesses" that testify to the TRUTH in the word of God:
Romans 2:2 " But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things."
The "letter of the word" passes judgment on morality or the "outside of the cup" only. To rely solely on this judgment, this is what is written:
2 Corinthians 3:16 " Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."
"THOU SHALT NOT STEAL"
On judging oneself, how easy to say, "I never took nor covet anything not mine in my life," on the commandment, "Thou shalt not steal." That is how the Rich Young Ruler professed to Jesus Christ on this particular commandment in:
Luke 18:20 " Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. 21And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up."
Our Lord however did not pronounce judgment on that basis alone for the man is referring to the "letter of the law" which is but "one witness to the truth." Like the Scribes and Pharisees, he needed to "clean the inside" first (Matthew 23:25 -26). To comprehend what is "cleanliness in the inside," our Lord told the man, "sell your possession and distribute the proceeds to the poor."
Luke 18:22 " Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me."
Again, following the "letter of the word," this would mean selling the material possession such as land, house, jewelry, etc. and giving the proceeds to the financially destitute persons. However, God is speaking His distinct "spiritual language" as differentiated from man's "literal language." Example, how could these two "languages" be reconciled in the following?
Revelation 3:17 " Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see."
The person is financially rich but in the eyes of our Lord he is poor, miserable, and naked. Can a materially rich person be physically naked? Certainly he can afford to buy clothes. God is speaking in parables (Ezekiel 20:49 ) and our Lord was prophesied to also speak in parables (Psalms 78:2). Christ therefore must be referring to "spiritual nakedness" that refers to the "garment of salvation."
Isaiah 61:10 " I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness…"
The man while physically covered with clothes is spiritually naked with the "garment of salvation." "Possession" as our Lord told the Rich Ruler should not refer to material, but to the richness of the mind and heart. This is human wisdom that God condemns. Feeling in spiritual matters deceives the unwary.
1 Corinthians 3:18 " Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise."
1 Corinthians 1:19 " …I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
Jeremiah 17:9 " The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
To follow our Lord, the Rich Ruler should "sell the richness of his mind and feeling" becoming a "little child," like the Apostles and Disciples, that God would have a free hand teaching him.
Matthew 18:3 " And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 11:25 " Jesus… said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes."
2 Timothy 3:15 " And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
The "proceeds from the sale," which is spiritual knowledge and wisdom should be given to the "poor in spirit."
Matthew 5:3 " Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
The Rich Young Ruler, like the Scribes and Pharisees, succeeded in "cleaning the outside of the cup" only, but because of spiritual blindness he has not "cleaned the inside." What he saw in the commandment was the MORAL, and was blind to the SPIRITUAL aspect of the law. The Rich Young Ruler and the Scribes and Pharisees were Natural Men. They have only their PHYSICAL LIFE and no SPIRITUAL LIFE to talk about. They had to be "converted into little children" (Matthew 18:3) that they would be "born again" (John 3:3).
Our Lord expounded the SPIRITUAL in following commandment, "Thou shalt not steal." If to the "letter of the law" stealing refers only to material or other intangible things, our Lord in the following expounds the "spirit of the law":
John 10:1 " Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber."
The "spiritual door" is our Lord Jesus Christ and the truth:
John 10:9 " I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…"
John 14:6 " Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth…"
How easy for many people to say, "We are passing through the 'door.' We have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior of our life." But are they passing through the "door" of TRUTH? Many people define truth as beliefs or doctrines supported by Bible verses unmindful of the conclusion's contradiction to what are written. Example: the epithets REVEREND (Rev.), HOLY, FATHER (Fr.), are used by sect leaders before their name, and verses are given in support. "Unseen" is the contradiction to what is written. Only the Redeemer and God deserves these appellations:
Psalms 111:9 " He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name."
Matthew 23:9 " And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ."
Is this not "stealing" of the highest order, for the honor and glory that solely belongs to God is the object of theft and robbery? Is this not a replay of what our Lord and His disciples saw in their time?
Another example of human doctrine that is accepted as truth for it is supported by Bible verses is the accolade given to preachers being addressed as Pastor and Shepherd. Verses in support are:
Ephesians 4:11 " And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers."
Jeremiah 3:15 " And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding."
This is the contradiction to what is written. The apostles are the foundation and Christ is the chief corner stone for the truth (Ephesians 2:19-20). The Apostles were never addressed Pastor or Shepherd or Teacher. Rabbi means teacher or pastor or leader.
Matthew 23:10 NIV " Nor are you to be called ‘ teacher,’ for you have one Teacher, the Christ."
Matthew 23:8 " But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren."
Luke 22:25 " And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve."
The pastors and teachers in Ephesians 4:11 and shepherds in Jeremiah 3:15 should only act as "speaker system" and should never take the honor and role of GOD, the one speaking over the microphone. For what words would be heard from the "speaker system" but hum and hiss? So, what words would come out from the mouth of people claiming to be "pastors and teachers of the word," but human precepts and religious traditions!
The human definition of "true doctrines," while supported by verses, on careful scrutiny, are contradictory to what is written in the Holy Bible. This is the cause of division in Christianity today.
God's definition of "true doctrines" that constitutes the TRUTH is testified by "two witnesses:" the "letter of the word" plus the "Spirit's revelation on the letter. " This is the real JUDGE from the word.
The Rich Young Ruler, and the Scribes and Pharisees, who were honest as not to have stolen anything of value, did not received favorable judgment by simply following the "letter of the word." This is only the "testimony of one witness" to the truth. The testimony of the "other witness," spiritual honesty of "passing through the door of truth" completes the JUDGMENT. Since TRUTH is the JUDGE in the word of God, the "testimony of the two witnesses" is required for the rest of the commandments.
